We were your teachers at the Young RWCMD.
When the department closed in Summer 2024, many of us wanted to continue to work as a collective, providing our students with the highest quality musical education and the continuity of our community. The result of this is a teacher cooperative, now working in partnership with CF Music.
Supported by the Musician’s Union; our aim is to provide a bespoke and varied curriculum to provide our students with the pathway they need to find their own musical direction. This means classes and courses designed by experienced musicians, some of whom are full time members of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera, some of whom are successful professional singers, pianists, chamber musicians… all of whom are passionate and experienced teachers: the best you will find in the region.
We are offering a new junior music conservatoire experience, in Stanwell School, Penarth, beginning on 21st September 2024. We would love to see familiar student faces, and some new ones!
We have a plethora of ideas for the future, from professional orchestral schemes to musician’s wellness classes. Some of this may even begin this term, and all of it will grow and adapt to the students who join us.
Advanced level students will receive a package of musicianship, orchestra/workshop, and chamber music coaching alongside their principal study lesson. The current advanced course will cost £663.90 per term (spread payment packages available). Courses for younger students studying at lower levels are being designed too.
Second study lessons, longer principal study lessons, theory, aural, everything else you would expect from a junior conservatoire course will be available in time, and by request. All of this will be designed to suit our students. Now is your chance to shape your music school.
